Pastor John Moxley
While we believe that all Christians are called to the joy of ministry, we are thankful for the leadership and service of our Church Staff! We’d like you to meet our Pastor, John R. Moxley:
John became the fifth Pastor of Azalea Baptist Church’s 50 year plus history on November 2, 2003.
As part of a military family, John was born in El Paso, Texas. He grew up in Pintlala, Alabama, where he became a member of Pintlala Baptist Church. After graduating High School, John enlisted in the United States Army. It was during his time of service to our country that he began to sense God’s call on his life.
John graduated from Auburn University in Montgomery, AL, received the Master of Divinity from the Baptist Theological Seminary in Richmond, VA and is currently pursuing Doctoral studies from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
John has served churches in Alabama, Kentucky and Virginia. He is a man with a wonderful sense of humor and a deep joy in his walk with Christ.
John and his wife Kristye make a wonderful ministry team. They are proud parents of Leah Evlyn and Eve Marie. While John has many interests and hobbies, his favorite pastime is being with “his girls.” We anticipate many years of joyful ministry with John and Kristye.
